Next Game: DES MOINES, Iowa – The Drake women’s basketball team coasted to a 101-49 victory over Illinois State Friday night, Feb. 10 at the Knapp Center. Drake forced 19 turnovers and nabbed 14 steals. Both Wendell and Jonas snagged four steals, a career-high for Jonas. The team dished out 31 assists, 10 of which came from senior point guard Caitlin Ingle (Runnells, Iowa). Drake (19-4, 12-0 MVC) earned its 13th-straight win, making them 12-0 in the Missouri Valley Conference to match the record for the best start in MVC history. The Bulldogs shot 37-of-62 (59.7 percent) including a 12-of-23 (52.2 percent) performance from beyond the arc. Every Bulldog scored at least four points, and played at least 14 minutes with no players recording more than 24 minutes. Illinois State (6-17, 3-9 MVC) was led by Taylor Stewart who put up nine points for the Redbirds while Viria Livingston tied Hittner for a game-best seven rebounds. The Bulldogs continue their homestead as they welcome Bradley to the Knapp Center on Sunday.
