first_imgSOME pundits reckoned Donegal could come unstuck against Armagh today, but it turns out we had nothing to worry about.Rory Gallagher’s team were never troubled here at the Athletic Grounds in Armagh City as they cruised to a 2-11 to 0-08 victory. The nine point winning margin didn’t flatter Donegal – it could have been more. Paddy McBrearty and Martin O’Reilly were the goal scorers on the day.But it was captain fantastic Michael Murphy who was our man of the match, leading from the front, he was all over the park, winning the ball, and when he was needed, popping over five points from super frees.Even when Armagh did go forward and went for goals, they came up against the brilliant Paul Durcan whose second half one-handed save was sheer class.Having put Armagh to the sword in the first half, there was no real contest in the second half as Donegal killed the game. Donegal play Derry on June 27 in the Ulster Championship semi-final.If Gallagher can keep this team playing like this, it might just be a lovely long summer ahead for Donegal football fans. DONEGAL CRUISE PAST ARMAGH IN ULSTER CHAMPIONSHIP CLASH was last modified: June 15th, 2015 by John2Share this:Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)Click to share on Reddit (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pocket (Opens in new window)Click to share on Telegram (Opens in new window)Click to share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)Click to share on Skype (Opens in new window)Click to print (Opens in new window) Tags:armaghbrilliantdonegallast_img
