He and teammate Kobe Clark, who caught nine passes for 107 yards, became the first ACU duo to finish a game with 100 yards each in four seasons. Defensive Player of the Week: Michael Lawson, Lamar – Jr. – Defensive Back – Patterson, Calif.Lawson tallied five solo and five assisted tackles and picked off two passes, including the game-sealing play in the third overtime. On Sam Houston State’s second play, Lawson got in front of Ty Brock’s pass at the 17-yard line. His first interception stopped the Bearkats at midfield with five minutes remaining in regulation. Among his 10 tackles, two came on third downs. FRISCO, Texas – Abilene Christian’s Josh Fink, Lamar’s Michael Lawson and Central Arkansas’ Hayden Ray earned Southland Football Player of the Week honors, the league announced Monday.
