first_img Former Cardinals kicker Phil Dawson retires Free agent defensive tackle Xavier Williams will not return to the Arizona Cardinals after they declined to match a contract offer from the Kansas City Chiefs, 98.7 FM Arizona’s Sports Station’s John Gambadoro confirmed Tuesday.The Kansas City Star first reported that Williams’ offer was not matched.Williams was Arizona’s only restricted free agent this offseason.Arizona tendered the tackle to make him a restricted free agent but did so at a price of $1.9 million, the slot for an undrafted free agent signing, meaning the team will not net any draft pick compensation for losing him in free agency.
