(Photo by Mike Ehrmann/Getty Images)Tate Martell’s decision to transfer to Miami capped off a turbulent month for Hurricanes’ quarterback Jarren Williams, a one-time four-star recruit.Just before Christmas, it was reported that Williams was seeking a transfer out of Miami. Williams redshirted this past season as a freshman. However, no sooner had it been reported that Williams was leaving, a subsequent report confirmed he had a change of heart and was actually going to stay at UM. With Malik Rosier graduating, Williams would be left to battle N’Kosi Perry and Cade Weldon for the starting spot in 2019.Well, now Martell is in the fold, and he has every intention of obtaining a waiver to play immediately. However, it doesn’t appear that Williams will reconsider a transfer, even if Martell’s arrival adds another element to the competition.“He’s fine,’ Williams’ father told the Miami Herald. “He’s committed to being there. It has never been an issue with competition with Jarren. The cream always rises to the top.”Lots of tidbits on new Canes QB Tate Martell, who once starred in a reality show.
